Our Men’s Group is made up of men from various backgrounds, spiritual disciplines, and mindsets. They meet each Thursday morning at 7:30 am in the church library over coffee and doughnuts. The usual format of the group is to read a manageable portion of whatever current book they’ve collectively found interesting and use the message(s) gleaned as a basis for discussion.
There are no dues, no elections, no leaders and the only responsibilities are to have an opinion, buy an occasional doughnut, lead the opening prayers once in a while and respect everyone’s opinion and the right to state it. The books are chosen democratically. Past readings include: Religious Literacy by Stephen Prothero; The Meaning of Jesus, Two Versions by Marcus Borg and N. T. Wright; American Gospel: God, the Founding fathers, and The Making of a Nation by Jon Meacham; and The Case for God by Karen Armstrong.
All men, regardless of church affiliation or religious convictions are invited, encouraged, and welcome.
