Discovers Opens Season with Toledo Jazz Veterans

Presented by Timothy’s Perrysburg Foundation, the Discovers Music Series will open the 2026-27 season with the appearance of a newly created vocal jazz quartet, The Four of Us. Comprised of veteran Toledo area musicians, Lori Lefevre, Lisa Young, Chris Buzzelli and Kevin Eikum, these versatile performers will present an afternoon recital of delightful and fascinating vocal arrangements. Hosted at St. Timothy’s Episcopal Church, the recital is scheduled for Sunday afternoon, September 27 at 3:00pm.

Familiar to Toledo audiences, Lori, Lisa and Kevin have performed for many years with the Sixth Edition. Kevin, an often-requested bassist and Chris, a sensational jazz guitarist, are regulars with the Toledo Jazz Orchestra. All have performed with a plethora of local jazz and classical ensembles, including the Toledo Symphony Orchestra and the Masterworks Chorale. Chris, a longtime faculty member at Bowling Green State University, has recently taught jazz studies at the University of Michigan. Buzzelli also has written many of the arrangements that The Four of Us will perform. The audience can expect to hear great jazz standards, original tunes and popular songs in a variety of musical styles. 

“Discovers Music Series is a multi-event music series, founded in 2013. We are committed to presenting quality musical experiences for Perrysburg and our neighboring communities. The September 27 concert follows in our tradition of supporting our local jazz artists, such as Ramona Collins, Mark Lemle and Jim Young,” offered Karen Smith, a volunteer with Discovers. ‘To Clothe, Feed and Fulfill’ is our goal for our three foundation programs: Clothesline, Tim’s Rescue Kitchen and Discovers” according to Mrs. Smith.

The concert is being held in St. Timothy's Episcopal Church free of charge; however, donations are kindly accepted. St. Timothy’s is located at 871 East Boundary St. Perrysburg.
