Easter Egg Hunt

Easter Egg Hunt

The Sunday School will hold its annual Easter Egg Hunt on Easter, April 20th, in the courtyard after the 10 AM service. If it’s rainy or muddy, we’ll move the hunt indoors to the Parish Hall. The hunt is for preschoolers through 6th graders, including out-of-town guests, newcomers, and visitors.

If you’d like to participate, please:

  1. Sign up to participate either on the bulletin board outside the kitchen or by e-mailing Susan Winters (grwii@roadrunner.com). We are thrilled to accommodate walk-ins, but it helps to know about how many to expect.

  2. During Sunday School egg hunters will be able to decorate a bag to collect eggs.

  3. Wear clothes that you’d like to be photographed in. We’ll have not only “egg hunting” shots, but also Easter family pictures! We’ll e-mail photos after Easter, so be sure we have your email address.

We’d like to have students from 7th grade through high school help with the hunt. We’ll need help around 9:15 with hiding eggs, and during the hunt they can help the youngest children with their hunting. We’ll have a bag of candy as a thank you for any older student who helps.

Maundy Thursday Service

Why is it called Maundy Thursday?

The ceremony of washing feet was also referred to as “the Maundy.” Maundy Thursday celebrations also commemorate the institution of the eucharist by Jesus “on the night he was betrayed.” The Prayer Book liturgy for Maundy Thursday provides for celebration of the eucharist and a ceremony of the washing of feet which follows the gospel and homily. Following this service, the altar is stripped and all decorative furnishings are removed from the church
